Terms of Service

Overdue is a study planner that builds study time around your classes, work shifts, deadlines, and grades. It includes planning tools, reminders, and optional AI features such as syllabus parsing and adaptive scheduling. Overdue is currently in beta, which means features may change, break, or disappear while we keep building. The service is provided "as is" during beta.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Overdue. You agree to give accurate information when creating your account, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

When using Overdue, you agree not to:

• Use someone else's account or share your own account.
• Try to break, overload, hack, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Scrape the app, abuse automated access, or deliberately burn through AI features.
• Upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you have no right to share (for example, someone else's copyrighted materials).
• Harass, threaten, or spam other users, including in friends, groups, or chat features.
• Use the service in a way that disrupts other users.

AI features (such as syllabus parsing, schedule reading, and adaptive planning) are provided for your convenience and are subject to reasonable use limits to prevent abuse. We may throttle, limit, or suspend AI access for accounts with abnormal or abusive usage. "Full AI access" during beta or premium means generous access for normal personal use, not literally infinite use.

AI can make mistakes. It may misread a date, a class name, or a deadline from an upload. Always verify important deadlines against your official course sources (your syllabus, your school's learning platform, your professor). We are not responsible for errors in AI-generated output.

Overdue is a planning tool, not a guarantee. We do not promise any grades or academic outcomes, and we are not responsible for missed deadlines, missed exams, or lost study data. Your coursework and your deadlines are ultimately your responsibility, so keep an eye on the things that matter most.

Premium unlocks extra features such as AI planning tools and custom themes. The exact premium features may change over time as the app grows. If paid plans are offered, the price and billing terms will be shown clearly before you pay, and payments are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

You own the content you put into Overdue: your courses, tasks, deadlines, uploads, notes, and everything else you create. You are responsible for that content, including making sure you have the right to upload it. By using the service, you give us permission to store and process your content solely to run the app for you, which includes sending uploads to AI providers to parse them. We do not sell your content.

Social features (friends, groups, shared work, chat) are for collaborating, not for causing trouble. Do not harass other users, post hateful or explicit content, or share anyone's private information. We may remove content and restrict or terminate accounts that harm others. Blocking and reporting tools are built in, please use them. We are not responsible for what other users post, but we will act on reports.

The Overdue app itself, including its design, code, branding, and features, belongs to us (or our licensors). These terms do not give you any ownership rights in the service. Please do not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer it.

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. The short version: your data exists to run the app for you, birthdays are month and day only and always optional, and you can delete your account and data anytime from Settings.

Overdue is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise the app will be error-free, always available, or perfectly accurate. Study plans, parsed schedules, and reminders are best-effort tools, not guarantees.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Overdue, including missed deadlines, lost data, or academic outcomes. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which is zero if you use the free plan). Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

You can stop using Overdue at any time, and you can delete your account and all of your data from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. If we ever discontinue Overdue, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.

We may update these terms as the app grows. For significant changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Overdue after the changes take effect means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. If you have a dispute, please contact us first at overduehq@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms (plus the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us about Overdue. We may assign these terms (for example, if the project changes hands); you may not assign them without our consent.
